Stuart Slicer has extensive work experience in the field of software development and consultancy. Stuart began their career as a Consultant at Oracle in 1986 and later worked at Paradigm UK Ltd, where they held various roles including analyst, designer, developer, team leader, and QA.
At Unilog, where they worked as a Senior Consultant, Stuart specialized in Java and web technologies and performed a wide range of consultancy roles. Some of their notable clients during this time included Ford Motor Company, Carlsberg-Tetley, 3G, and Croner.
From 2004 to 2008, Stuart served as a Senior Consultant at Edenbrook, where they focused on Java and web development. Stuart undertook high-profile technical roles within projects, contributed to and wrote proposals, developed prototypes and proofs of concepts, provided pre-sales consultancy, and performed performance testing and technical quality reviews. Their clients during this period included Financial Times, BUPA, SWW, and Orbit Benefits.
As a Consultant at infoMENTUM Limited in 2008-2009, Stuart continued to apply their expertise in a technical consultancy role.
Stuart then worked as a Senior Consultant at Financial Times from 2009 to 2014. During this time, they played a key role in the major re-architecture of FT's subscription-based backend systems, integrating with Salesforce and Zuora and following API patterns.
From 2014 to 2016, Stuart worked as a Senior Java Developer at CrowdShed, where they initially started as a contractor and later became a full-time employee. Stuart refactored the core and middle tier of the application, designed and developed a REST API for the backend server, and created white label capabilities.
At LodeStar Ecosystems Limited, Stuart served as a Senior Technical Consultant from 2017 to 2022. Their work involved designing and developing architecture for the LodeBot chatbot using microservices running within AWS servers. Stuart also designed and developed the core of LodeBot, developed gateways to the bot using SMS, Skype, Slack, and WhatsApp.
Recently, Stuart held the position of Senior Software Development Coach at _nology.io from 2022 to 2023. Stuart developed new Java and Spring curriculums, trained _nology coaches in Java and Spring, and led intensive 12-week courses covering full-stack technologies.
In 2023, Stuart joined Ensono Digital as a Senior Java Consultant.
Stuart Slicer earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The University of Manchester, from 1983 to 1986.
