Tarek Shalaby began their work experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Center for Vehicle Systems & Safety at Virginia Tech in June 2011 and continued in this role until May 2014. Following their time at Virginia Tech, they joined ENSCO, Inc. in June 2014 as an Associate Mechanical Engineer, where they worked on track inspection projects within the Applied Technology and Engineering department. Tarek was subsequently promoted to the role of Mechanical Engineer in May 2016. In February 2018, Tarek became a Project Manager and later assumed the position of Deputy Director - Track Inspection Systems in March 2021. Tarek then transitioned to the role of Product Manager - Autonomous Track Inspection Systems in May 2020 and currently serves as the Director of Track Inspection Systems since July 2022 at ENSCO, Inc.
Tarek Shalaby obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech between 2010 and 2014. Tarek then pursued further education at The George Washington University - School of Engineering & Applied Science, where they completed their Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from 2016 to 2020.
