Lead Staff Scientist And System Engineer at ENSCO

Justin Balbierer has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to meteorology and weather forecasting. Justin is currently serving as the Lead Staff Scientist and System Engineer at ENSCO, Inc., where they provide software development support for the commercial MetWise weather service. Justin has expertise in Java, Python, and Bash for analytical meteorological graphics. In addition, Justin conducts business presentations and prepares meteorological operation plans for space launch and aviation customers.

Prior to their current role, Justin worked at Weather Forecast Solutions as the Director of Operations and Lead Meteorologist. In this position, they provided weather forecasts for US Navy military installations and developed custom reports for severe weather outbreaks and tropical cyclone impacts. Justin also resolved software and data ingest troubleshooting issues related to the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS).

Justin's earlier work experience includes a role as a Staff Scientist in Emergency Management Support at the Florida Division of Emergency Management/Logistics. In this capacity, they provided weather synopses and forecasts to state agencies and presented weather information during emergency situations. Justin also conducted daily weather briefings for emergency management safety and post-event logistical planning.

Additionally, Justin has prior experience working at Publix Super Markets in various roles, including Pharmacy Clerk, Training Assistant, Produce Clerk, and Front Service Clerk.

Justin Balbierer attended the University of South Florida from 1999 to 2001, where they studied Geography and Liberal Studies. Finally, from 2005 to 2009, they attended American Sentinel College, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Business Administration.
