Jack Nugent is an experienced professional in humanitarian engineering and project management, currently serving as Country Manager for Engineers Without Borders Australia in Timor-Leste since May 2019. Prior to this role, Jack was a Lecturer and Programme Coordinator at the University of Canterbury, where responsibilities included teaching and coordinating the Diploma in Global Humanitarian Engineering. Jack's expertise extends to facilitating Humanitarian Design Summits in several countries and working as a WASH Engineer for MSABI, focusing on water and sanitation projects. Additional experience includes managing production for a large-scale facility in Timor-Leste and hands-on roles in carpentry and mechanical engineering internships. Jack holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Monash University.
