Padmaja Anand has worked in various roles in the scientific field since 2009. Padmaja began their career as a Student Trainee at Frontier Lifeline Hospital in 2009. Padmaja then moved to Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2012, where they held the roles of Project Officer, Ph.D Graduate Research Student, and Teaching Assistant. In 2017, they joined Invitrocue as Manager of Scientific Affairs and Business Development and Scientist. Padmaja is currently employed at Engine Biosciences as Scientist II since 2019.

Padmaja Anand obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy between 2008 and 2012. Padmaja then obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore between 2012 and 2016. In 2013, they obtained a Responsible Care and Use of Laboratory Animals Course from SingHealth. In 2012, they obtained a University Teaching Certificate from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. In 2022, they obtained a Microsoft Excel for Project Management Certificate from Udemy.
