Alexander Lebel

Director, Embedded Software at Enedym

Alexander Lebel has a significant amount of experience in the field of embedded software and powertrain software & controls. Alexander currently holds the position of Sr. Manager, Embedded Software at Enedym Inc. and previously served as the Manager, Powertrain Software & Controls at the same company. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Enedym Inc., where they specialized in electrified powertrains, power electronics, electric machines, electric motor drives, and advanced controls.

Before joining Enedym Inc., Alexander Lebel co-founded MenloLab in 2019. Alexander also worked as an Electrified Powertrain Research Engineer at McMaster University, focusing on developing a virtual engineering platform for designing electrified vehicles. Additionally, they served as the System Modeling and Simulation Subteam Lead and Controls Subteam Lead at McMaster Engineering EcoCAR 3, where they developed MATLAB/Simulink and AMESim models for electrified vehicle architectures and vehicle powertrain control algorithms.

Alexander Lebel's earlier experience includes working as a Teaching Assistant at McMaster University, where they mentored engineering students and oversaw labs and tutorials. Alexander also served as the Controls Subteam Lead at McMaster Formula Hybrid Team, designing and implementing control systems for race cars. In addition, they gained industry experience as an Electrified Powertrain Intern at Chrysler Group LLC, where they facilitated the design, testing, and integration of control algorithms for electrified vehicles.

Prior to pursuing their career in engineering, Alexander Lebel worked as a Grocery Clerk at Fortinos Supermarket Ltd.

Alexander Lebel earned a Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering & Management from McMaster University, specializing in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. Alexander pursued their undergraduate education from 2009 to 2014. Subsequently, Alexander obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Software Engineering from McMaster University, studying from 2014 to 2017.
