Veronica Toccafondo has worked in a variety of roles in the field of chemistry since 2006. Veronica began as a PhD student and research contract at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in 2006. In 2009, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at both the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and the Nanophotonics Technology Center. From 2013 to 2021, they were a Permanent Researcher and Researcher at CNIT - Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni, working in the Advanced Packaging Laboratory and focusing on the packaging of optical components. Since 2021, they have been a Chemistry Research Team Leader and R&D Chemistry Project Manager at Enapter.
Veronica Toccafondo has an extensive educational history. Veronica obtained their Laurea in Physics from the Università di Pisa in 2003-2005, followed by a Laurea Specialistica in Physics from the same institution in 2003-2005. Veronica then went on to pursue a PhD in Innovative Technologies of ICT and Robotics, area of telecommunications from the Scuola Superiore 'Sant' Anna' di Studi Universitari e di Perfezionamento from 2006-2009. During this time, they also took part in a Visiting PhD student program in Optoelectronics at the University of Southampton in 2008. In 2019, they obtained a C2 Proficiency score of 226 from Cambridge Assessment English.
