Stephanie O'Dear

Vice President, Government Markets at Empower Retirement

Stephanie O'Dear has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Stephanie started their career in 2002 as the President of The Cosmopolitan Group, where they founded an agency representing a designer clothing company. Stephanie then worked as a Columnist for SPACES magazine from 2006-2010. In 2009, Stephanie became the Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Communications at Martech, leading sales and marketing divisions. Stephanie joined J.P. Morgan in 2011, first as the Vice President of Strategic Communications and later as the Vice President of Sales Strategy and Support. Stephanie joined Empower in 2014, serving as the Head of Marketing for the Retirement Solutions Group before becoming the Vice President of Government Markets. Throughout their career, Stephanie has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, marketing, communications, and sales.

Stephanie O'Dear completed their education from various institutions. Stephanie earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management from MIT Sloan School of Management between 2015 and 2017. In 2009, they attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, where they participated in Sales Management Executive Education. Prior to that, they obtained a B.J. with Honors degree in Advertising from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they studied from 1987 to 1992. Stephanie O'Dear completed their high school education at North Kansas City High School from 1983 to 1987. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications, including Six Sigma Green Belt - Financial Services from Villanova University in May 2014, Series 24 from FINRA in December 2012, Series 63 from FINRA in February 2012, and Series 7 from FINRA in December 2011.
