The Field Service Technician is responsible for system and component installations, repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance, and retrofits to customer’s equipment or machinery. Travel to jobsites and/or work in a shop environment.
Specific responsibilities:
- Read and follow engineering schematic drawings, Bills of Material, and technical specifications.
- Hydraulic system troubleshooting.
- Inspect valves, pumps, various actuators, and system components.
- In-depth understanding of component operation and adjustment.
- Provide customer guidance for improvement.
- Assemble, test, and service systems and components comprised mainly of company products.
- Manage workflow to maintain in accordance with customer required dates.
- Perform general mechanical tasks, including as necessary basic welding, torch, grinding, painting, etc.
- Maintain records as required (assembly routers, quality, dimensional checks, testing, etc.).
- Follow the process of paperwork requirements of billings, reports, and documentation.
- Properly control, store, maintain, and secure assets (inventory, tools, machinery consumables, etc.).
- Fabricate and install high pressure tubing using standard fittings.
- Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the shop area.
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment within the establishment such as test stands, saws, and paint booth.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.
- Disassemble machinery and repair or replace broken parts.
- Dismantle, test, and analyze malfunctioning equipment, hand tools, and power tools to locate defects.
- Clean and lubricate parts.
- Monitor the functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards/problems and the potential need for adjustments, repairs, or replacement.
- Responsible to keep up to date on product training.
- Inspect work of others.
- Work in environmental conditions to include periods of extreme heat and cold.
- Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 requirements and understand the implications of not complying with the quality management system.
- Must be able to travel for short periods of time.
