Rafeya Howlader is a Medical Management Specialist at Empire BlueCross BlueShield, a position held since May 2022. With a strong background in public health and nutrition, Rafeya served as a Graduate Assistant at the College of Nursing and Public Health, Adelphi University from September 2015 to September 2017, and completed internships at the Nassau County Department of Health and Community Counseling and Mediation in 2017 and 2016, respectively. Prior experience includes a role as a Certified Application Counselor at Empire/Health Plus/Amerigroup from June 2010 to June 2015, where education about Medicaid and health insurance options was provided. Rafeya also established and managed a small business, DABIS Convenience Store, from January 2008 to May 2010, demonstrating entrepreneurship skills alongside a background in nutrition as a Nutritionist at Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital from 1998 to 2001. Rafeya holds a Master of Public Health from Adelphi University and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Dhaka.
