María Rubiera has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. María started their career at Fi2Net in 2008 as a Full Stack Developer. In 2010, they joined Indra as a Team Leader / Software Engineer and worked there until 2017. María then joined Empathy.co in 2017 as a Program & Project Manager. María later transitioned to the role of Product Owner in 2020 and currently holds the position of Operations Director since July 2021.

María Rubiera's education history includes obtaining a BSc in Telecommunications Engineering with Telematics specialization from the Universidad de Oviedo in 2005. María then pursued an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2008. In 2007, María also completed their MSc Thesis in Telecommunications Engineering with Honours from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. In 2016-2017, they pursued an MBA Executive from the Universidad de Oviedo. María has additional certifications in Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I), Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS), Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I), and a Certificate in Advanced English (C1) obtained from the University of Cambridge in 2014.
