Beth Funkhouser currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Emory & Henry College. In addition to her work with Emory & Henry’s Exercise Science & Pre-Health Program, she formerly served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in the E&H Athletic Department.
An active advocate for the profession, she is proud to have served two terms as the Secretary of the Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association. Funkhouser is a 2002 graduate of E&H with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education and earned a Master of Education degree in Kinesiology-Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia and a Doctor of Athletic Training degree from AT Still University-Arizona School of Health Sciences.
Additionally, Dr. Funkhouser is an active member of the National Association for the Advisors of Health Professions (NAAHP), NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising, National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), Southeast American College of Sports Medicine (SEACSM), and the British Association of Sport Rehabilitation and Trainers (BASRaT).
