Michael Rion has a strong background in sales and marketing, particularly in the steel industry. Michael started their career at ArcelorMittal in 2003, where they held various roles in marketing and sales, including Chief Marketing Officer for Distribution Europe and CEO for Distribution & Projects Middle East. Michael then moved on to Emirates Steel Arkan, where they served as the Director of Heavy Section Mill Sales before being promoted to Vice President of Sales and eventually Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to Emirates Steel Arkan, Michael was the General Manager Commercial at SULB Company and the Managing Partner at Go4ward.
Michael Rion's education history includes obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Vlerick Business School in 2016. Additionally, they completed an Executive Program in International Business at Stellenbosch Business School, an Executive Program in Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley, an Executive Program in Leadership at Duke University, and an Executive Program in Project Management at ESCP Business School. Michael also holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Commercial & Financial Sciences from Ichec Brussels Management School, which they obtained in 2002, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business Management from the same institution, obtained in 2000.
