J Risi III has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. J founded Eminent Future, an Enterprise Software Company, in 2009 and currently serves as its CEO. J also works as a Solutions Architect at the Department of State since October 2019. In the past, they held the positions of Software Projects Leader at Army INSCOM, Architect at RevampIO, and Senior IT Engineer at Phacil, Inc. J also served in the United States Department of Defense, where they held multiple roles such as Lead IT Specialist, IT Specialist (Enlistment), US Marine, and Help Desk Administrator. Additionally, they were the Lead Software Engineer at the U.S. Department of State and the Emerging Technologies Chair at AFCEA International. In their various roles, they demonstrated leadership, engineering skills, and expertise in software development and modernizing systems.

J Risi III obtained their Executive Master's in Leadership from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a BSIS in Information Systems Data Management from Strayer University from 2008 to 2012. J also attended Northern Virginia Community College from 2003 to 2005, focusing on web page, digital/multimedia, and information resources design. Additionally, J Risi III completed the 4067 Marine Occupational School Graduate program at USMC Computer Programmer in 2001. J attended Fiorello H LaGuardia High School from 1997 to 2001, majoring in Art/Art Studies.

In terms of certifications, J Risi III obtained several, including Microsoft PowerApps Essential Training: The Basics and SharePoint Online: Migrating from InfoPath to PowerApps from LinkedIn in June 2020. J also earned a certification in Learning Document Retention and Data Management from LinkedIn in October 2019. Additionally, J Risi III obtained certifications in various subjects such as .NET Best Practices and Design Patterns, Big Data Opportunities and Challenges, NoSQL Concepts and Background, and Agile Project Management Essentials, among others, from different institutions like Learning Tree International, Skillsoft, and CompTIA.
