David Sterling

Global Head of Mining Automation at Emesent

David Sterling's work experience spans several industries and positions. David currently holds the role of Executive Sales Director Australia at Reactive Technologies Limited since June 2023. Prior to this, they were the Global Head of Mining Automation at Emesent starting in June 2022.

David has also worked at GE, where they held various roles. From September 2014 to April 2022, they worked as GE Digital Energy, Grid Solutions. Later, they served as the Account Director and Analytics Sales Lead APAC at GE Grid Solutions from June 2019 to March 2022.

Before joining GE, David worked at Accenture as a Senior Manager in Mining Process Optimization from November 2013 to September 2014. David focused on improving production in mining and oil and gas companies using technology solutions such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) solutions.

David's previous experience includes roles at SolveIT Software as Director Strategic Development from October 2012 to October 2013, Schneider Electric as Mining, Minerals & Metals, Production Optimization Director and Manufacturing Execution Systems, VP Global Sales from February 2011 to September 2012 and August 2008 to February 2011 respectively, Intellection Pty Ltd as Global Sales Manager from January 2007 to August 2008, and Kodak Health Group as ASEAN Sales Director, IT Solutions from January 2000 to December 2006.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated expertise in sales, business development, and optimization within the mining and resources industry. David has a strong focus on utilizing technology solutions to improve production and is experienced in managing global sales teams.

David Sterling has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Geology from QUT (Queensland University of Technology), where they studied Geology, Chemistry, and Physics. Additionally, they hold a Graduate Diploma in Business from the University of New England (AU), focusing on Business, Marketing, and Law.
