David Griffin

Director, Education Abroad & Domestic Program at Emerson College

David Griffin (’85, G ’93) has worked at Emerson College for 30 years. Based at the Emerson College home-campus in Boston, MA, his responsibilities include serving as one of the primary programmatic liaisons to the Emerson European Center - Kasteel Well (The Netherlands). As director, David oversees the recruitment, selection, and placement operations for all Emerson education abroad programs, including the College’s student exchange programs (two programs in China and one program in Barcelona, Spain); the London Summer Program, the Berklee-Emerson Semester in Valencia (Spain); and Emerson’s Global Pathways Program (Faculty-led summer abroad programs in Austria, China, Colombia, France, Greece, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands and Czech Republic).

In addition, David oversees the recruitment, selection and placement functions for all external domestic programs, most notably the Washington D.C. Internship Program and Emerson’s Los Angeles campus. David is an enthusiastic traveler himself and has visited five of the seven continents. He is committed to providing Emerson students with opportunities to expand their horizons beyond Emerson's Boston campus, and preparing them for global citizenship. David’s interests include the theater, travel, literature, animal welfare, social justice and LBGT rights. David holds two Emerson degrees (BFA in Musical Theatre and MA in Speech Communication Studies respectively).
