Joana Vaz has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Joana currently holds the position of Vice President, Transactions at Emergent since September 2022. Prior to that, Joana worked at Timber Capital Limited as a Manager from November 2018 to August 2022. Joana also has a background in Mergers and Acquisitions, having worked at KPMG Portugal. Joana'sroles at KPMG included Mergers and Acquisitions Manager from October 2017 to October 2018, Mergers and Acquisitions Senior Associate from September 2014 to September 2017, and Analyst from February 2012 to September 2014. Joana's work experience began with an internship at Millennium bcp in June 2008.

Joana Vaz obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidade do Porto from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their degree, they have obtained the certification in Sustainable Finance from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in February 2022. Joana also pursued additional certifications in Financial Decision Rules for Project Evaluation from the University of Michigan and Sustainability Science – A Key Concept for Future Design from the University of Tokyo, RCAST, although the specific dates of completion for these certifications are not provided.
