Nelia Shechter has a diverse work experience in the field of biotherapeutics and molecular biology. Nelia is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Emendo Biotherapeutics since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Scientist at Merck Group - Inter-Lab from August 2015 to July 2021. Nelia also worked as a Director of Research at Chan-bio from January 2014 to July 2015. Nelia held the role of Project Leader in Drug Discovery at MIGAL Galilee Research Institute from 2013 to 2014 and was a Project Manager at Migal - Galilee Research Institute from 2012 to 2013. Nelia pursued their PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science from 2007 to 2012, during which they worked as a molecular biologist at Alomone Labs from July 2004 to February 2007. Nelia started their career as an M.Sc. student at Tel Aviv University, Department of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology from October 2001 to October 2003.

Nelia Shechter obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology, General from Tel Aviv University between the years 1998 and 2001. Nelia then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in molecular microbiology and biotechnology at the same university from 2001 to 2003. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled at the Weizmann Institute of Science and completed their PhD in Structural Biology from 2007 to 2012.
