Kyle is an Associate at Emergence Capital. His experience growing up in the Bay Area fostered a deep curiosity and passion for technology, which led to him to consistently write startup ideas such as an “iPod Car” mockup (a car with a giant iPod on the dashboard) when he was 9 years old. Today, this passion manifests itself in his desire to learn about and discuss new ideas and notable trends, and work with entrepreneurs.
Prior to Emergence, Kyle was on the Growth and New Product Go-To-Market Strategy teams at Plaid where he helped define the company’s growth strategy for startup customers and collaborated across the Product, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering teams to launch new products. He saw the grit and iterations required to build new products, find product-market fit, and scale a go-to-market motion, which have shaped his strong admiration and enthusiasm for working with entrepreneurs.
Before Plaid, Kyle attended Duke University where he studied Computer Science. At Duke, he was a member of Duke Catalyst (Duke’s tech and entrepreneurship club) and the club basketball team. When he’s not rooting for Duke basketball, Kyle loves to get outside and enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing tennis.
