Matthew Benton is a Senior Scientific Officer at EMBL since January 2022, previously holding the position of Scientific Officer. Prior to EMBL, Matthew served as a Research Fellow in the Department of Zoology at the University of Cambridge from September 2018 to January 2022. Matthew's academic background includes postdoctoral research at the University of Cologne from October 2013 to December 2017 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Cambridge earned in October 2013. Matthew also holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Genetics from the University of Otago, completed in December 2008.
