Dave Jones is a seasoned professional in the energy sector with extensive experience in data analysis and policy work. Currently serving as Global Insights Programme Director at Ember since March 2020, Dave focuses on showcasing the speed of the energy transition and exploring strategies for acceleration. Prior to this role, Dave was the Global Project Lead at Ember, where efforts were directed towards expanding coal-to-clean electricity initiatives in Asia and beyond. From March 2014 to March 2020, Dave worked as a Europe coal phaseout analyst at Sandbag Climate Campaign, curating data to facilitate policy changes for coal phaseout in Europe. Additionally, from August 2000 to July 2013, Dave held various positions, culminating in a senior hedging analyst role at E.ON Global Commodities, focusing on analyze hedging strategies for fossil, hydro, and nuclear energy portfolios across the UK and Europe. Dave holds a degree in Business and Economics from The University of Sheffield and completed education at King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford, UK.
