Richard George has held a variety of software engineering roles since 2011. In 2011, they worked as a freelance Contract Developer for Fitch Learning. Richard then worked as a Contract Software Developer for Amazon in 2015, Contract Software Consultant for LINX (The London Internet Exchange) in 2014 and 2015, and Contract Software Engineer for Quidco in 2016. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as Lead Developer and Senior Backend Developer for SNATCH INC, Senior Software Engineer for LINX (The London Internet Exchange) in 2019, and Software Engineer for Forcepoint from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are a Staff Software Engineer for Internal Tools at Embark Veterinary.

Richard George completed their MEng and Dip Eur in Electronic Engineering Tripartite at the University of Southampton from 1994 to 1997. In 1998 and 1999, they completed their MEng and Dip Eur in Electronic Engineering at ESIEE Paris. From 1997 to 1998, they completed their MEng and Dip Eur in Electronic Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
