Rachel Helsby is a highly experienced data scientist specializing in marine and oceanographic data analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Elvie since June 2021, Rachel previously held the same title at Sonomatic Limited, where significant contributions included developing object-oriented programming code in Matlab to streamline data analysis on corrosion rates and exploring photogrammetry techniques. Earlier roles included Marine Data Manager and Marine Scientist at Partrac, focusing on data collection and processing in the marine renewables sector, as well as managing environmental data projects. Rachel began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Southampton, where expertise in both laboratory analysis and field data processing was developed. Rachel holds a PhD in Oceanography/Sedimentology and a BSc in Oceanography with Geology, both from the University of Southampton.
