Radu also modeled and analyzed replacement attachments using CATIA and Patran/Nastran software.
Radu has also gained experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan College of Engineering, where they created a computational model to predict screech frequencies for supersonic rectangular jets. Radu was also involved in a college-student run event called How to College, which aimed to empower Romanian high school students to study abroad.
Furthermore, Radu was part of the M-Fly Aero Design team, where they served as an Analysis Engineer and Regular Class Construction Manager. Radu designed and built the Regular Class M10 airframe for a competition, and also focused on structural analysis.
Radu's other experiences include working as an Engineering Curriculum Design Intern at the University of Michigan, where they contributed to the development of a high school's engineering curriculum. Radu also served as the Vice President of Recruitment at INvent, a student organization that implemented STEM programs in high schools, and as an Intern at Blue Air, where they oversaw day-to-day operations in the Operational Control Center.
Radu Tolontan completed their high school education at the Tudor Vianu National College of Computer Science from 2013 to 2017. Radu obtained their high school diploma with a specialization in computer science. Following that, Tolontan pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan from 2017 to 2021. Radu earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering during this period. Currently, Tolontan is enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, where they are working towards a Master of Engineering degree with a concentration in Aerospace, focusing on Mechanical Engineering.
