Mussa Idris

Associate Professor, Anthropology at Elon University

Mussa Idris is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Elon University, holding the position since January 2012. Mussa teaches courses such as Qualitative Research Methods, Anthropological Theories, Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and Peoples & Cultures of Africa. Prior to this role, Mussa served as a Teaching Associate in Anthropology and the Center for African Studies at the University of Florida from January 2006 to December 2013. Mussa earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Florida in 2013, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Cultural Anthropology and International Development from the same institution in 2002, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Asmara in 1998.
