Lalaine Tan has over 29 years of experience in the field of research and development. Lalaine currently works at Elo Life Systems as a Research Assistant II, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at BASF as an R&D Specialist II from August 2018 to May 2022. Lalaine also has extensive experience at Bayer Crop Science, where they held the position of R&D Specialist II from January 2011 to July 2018. Before that, they worked at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center as a Research Technician from October 2009 to January 2011. Lalaine's career began at Monsanto, where they worked as a Research Associate II from March 1998 to October 2009. Lalaine also worked at Ciba-Geigy as a Technician from September 1993 to March 1998.

Lalaine Tan attended NCSU from 1989 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Lalaine'sfield of study included biochemistry and biological sciences.
