Paul Windust has extensive work experience in accounting roles. Paul started their career in 1997 as an External Funds Administrator at Friends Provident. In 1999, they joined FPS Group of Companies Limited as a Pension Scheme Accountant and worked there until 2006. Paul then moved to Crawley Borough Council, where they served as Chief Accountant for 17 years. Currently, they are working at Elmbridge Borough Council as the Chief Accountant, starting in 2023.

Paul Windust earned a Level 5 Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute in 2009. Prior to that, they attended the University of Leeds from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a focus on Law. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) from ACCA in June 2005.
