Frida Åström has a diverse work history with experience in various roles. Frida began their career as a Personal Assistant at Saab Bofors Dynamics in 2002. Frida then worked as a Receptionist/Administrator and Café Assistant at Sykes Europe Limited. In 2003, they joined Linköpings Kommun as a Case Manager in social services, where they handled welfare support cases. Frida later worked as a Recruiter/Job Placement Officer at HR Bemanning, also at Linköpings Kommun. In 2004, they held the position of Case Manager in social services at both Linköpings Kommun and Haninge Kommun. In 2007, Frida joined Huge Bostäder AB as an HR Strategist, where they had both operational and strategic responsibilities, including leading an organizational restructuring project. In 2017, they transitioned to Ellevio AB as a People & Culture Lead.
Frida Åström obtained a Magisterår degree in Stressprevention from Karolinska institutet in 2005-2006. Prior to that, they completed a Magisterexamen in Sociologi as part of the Motsv. PAO program at Linköping University in 2001-2002. In 1996-2001, Frida earned a Kandidatexamen from Karlstads universitet, although the field of study was not specified.
