Claudia Smith is an experienced social worker currently serving as an Inpatient Psychiatric Social Worker at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since September 2021 and previously held the title of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Fellow in the same department. Claudia has a background in mental health services, having worked as a Milieu Counselor at Ellenhorn since January 2017 and as a Suicide Prevention Social Work Intern for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from August 2020 to April 2021. Key contributions include providing psychiatric assessments and therapeutic interventions for veterans, leading therapeutic groups, and enhancing support for veterans in crisis. Additional experience includes roles as a Crisis Intervention Social Work Intern at Lowell General Hospital and as a Community Outreach Specialist at North Suffolk Mental Health. Claudia holds a Master of Social Work degree from Salem State University, obtained in 2021, and has prior education at Lesley University and Worcester State University.
