Shamit Pillay is currently working as a Sales Director at Elkem Silicones since August 2021. Prior to that, they had a long career at Dow, starting in 2009 as a Regional Sales Manager and later advancing to roles such as Business Head - Dow Consumer Solutions and General Manager - Home and Personal Care India Region + Mktg, MEA. Before joining Dow, Shamit worked at Rohm and Haas as a Home and Personal Care - Sales Manager, and at Ciba Specialty Chemicals as a Sales Manager. Shamit'searly career was with Linde, where they held a role in Marketing - Special Gases from 1997 to 2002.

Shamit Pillay's education history includes completing an executive course in Organizational Leadership at IMD in 2016. Shamit obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management between 1995 and 1997. Shamit also completed their ICSE from St. Xavier's School in Doranda, spanning from 1978 to 1988. In addition, they obtained certification as a Speaker and Coach from the John Maxwell Team in 2019.
