David Marks, PhD, MSc has a diverse work experience primarily in the healthcare and medical communications industry. David is currently working as the VP, Medical Director at Elevate Healthcare since May 2019. Prior to that, they had an extensive tenure at ETHOS Health Communications, where they held various roles including Clinical Strategist, Strategic Account Director, Scientific Director, Associate Scientific Director, and Medical Writer. During their time at ETHOS, their responsibilities included translating medical and clinical information into commercial and clinical strategies, building relationships with key opinion leaders, developing scientific and communication platforms, and leading advisory board meetings. Before joining ETHOS, David also worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where they focused on the analysis and development of transgenic mice for studying a novel neurodegenerative paradigm.

David Marks, PhD, MSc, completed their formal education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Belmont Abbey College in 2000. David then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biology at Towson University from 2001 to 2003. Continuing their academic journey, they earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Florida State University between 2003 and 2008. In addition to their educational achievements, they obtained certifications as a Paramedic from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and as a National Registered Paramedic (NRP) from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in March 2023.
