Michelle Turano currently serves as Vice President of Government Business Compliance at Elevance Health, leading a team of over 250 associates in the Medicare & Medicaid Compliance Department with an annual budget of approximately $40 million. Prior to this role, Michelle held the position of Vice President of Medicare Compliance and Public Affairs at WellCare Health Plans, where responsibilities included managing relationships with government regulators and serving as the primary contact with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Additionally, Michelle has experience as a Health Policy Advisor for the US Congress, advising on health policy matters, and as Deputy Director at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, overseeing compliance and audit programs for millions of Medicare beneficiaries. Michelle holds a Master's degree in Health Policy Analysis from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
