Belma Dogdas has extensive work experience in various roles related to bioinformatics, predictive analytics, machine learning, and data science. Belma is currently the Director/Head of Bioinformatics and Predictive Analytics at Elephas since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Machine Learning/AI Manager at Invitae from April 2022 to September 2022. From 2018 to 2021, Belma was a Senior Principal Scientist/Senior Product Manager at Paige. Belma also has significant experience at Merck, where they held the position of Image Data Analytics Lead, Scientific Informatics/Data Science from 2007 to 2018, managing a team and leading projects in biomarker development and discovery in various therapeutic areas. Belma began their career as a Research Assistant at the Electrical Engineering - Signal and Image Processing Institute in 2000.

Belma Dogdas holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC). Belma also obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from USC. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science degree from Bilkent University. Additionally, Belma has obtained several certifications, including Certification for Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Hyperdrive Agile Leadership, Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates, Senior IEEE membership from IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, and a Biopharma Innovation mini-MBA from Rutgers Business School. Belma also has certifications in Certified Project Manager (CPM) and Six Sigma Yellow Belt training, both obtained from Merck.
