Victor Barres, PhD, is a seasoned professional in natural language processing (NLP) with extensive experience in both research and application. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at Elemental Cognition since June 2023, Victor previously held multiple roles at Uniphore, where responsibilities included leading NLP research for human-human spoken conversation understanding. Prior to that, Victor contributed to Astound.ai as an AI Scientist focusing on domain expert conversational agents. Victor's academic achievements include a PhD in computational cognitive neuroscience from the University of Southern California, where research concentrated on modeling language-vision interactions. Additionally, Victor has served as a teaching assistant for courses related to brain theory and applied natural language processing.
