Siyuan (Alex) Xing is an accomplished engineering professional specializing in microfluidics and fluidic systems, currently serving as Sr Manager of Fluidics Engineering at Element Biosciences since June 2022, leading the development of advanced fluidic systems for next-generation sequencing and multi-omics instruments. Previously, at 10x Genomics, Siyuan led a team to create customized open fluidics instruments. A former Senior Microfluidics Engineer at Optokey, Siyuan successfully completed a DNA fragment analysis device ahead of schedule while gaining comprehensive engineering expertise. Co-founding ATACAMA, Inc., Siyuan played a pivotal role in transforming microfluidics technologies into market-ready products and securing substantial funding through NSF projects. Holding a Ph.D. in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from UC Davis, Siyuan has made significant contributions to the field, including pioneering research on open microfluidics and developing patented technologies.
