Brooks Bond-Watts has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biotechnology. Brooks has most recently worked at ELEGEN as a Senior Scientist since November 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Scientist at Novome Biotechnologies from January 2021 to November 2022.

Before joining Novome Biotechnologies, Brooks worked at Zymergen, Inc. as a Scientist II from June 2019 to January 2021. At Zymergen, they conducted research and experiments in the field of molecular biology.

From 2015 to 2019, Brooks worked at QB3 Macrolab as an Associate Project Scientist. In this role, they carried out various custom cloning and protein expression projects for academic and industry groups. Brooks also developed molecular cloning reagents for academic groups.

Prior to their time at QB3 Macrolab, Brooks held the position of Assistant Specialist at UC Berkeley from November 2014 to June 2015. During this time, they used expression microarrays and LCMS-based metabolomics to analyze the metabolism of engineered E. coli.

Brooks also gained experience as an intern at Agilent Technologies from August 2014 to November 2014. Additionally, they have worked as a Graduate Student at UC Berkeley from August 2006 to August 2014. In this role, they focused on designing and characterizing a synthetic biological pathway for the production of n-butanol in E. coli.

Before pursuing their graduate studies, Brooks worked as a Staff Researcher I/II at UCSF from 2004 to 2006. Here, they developed and validated techniques for genetic analysis of bladder cancer using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded clinical samples.

Brooks' earlier experience includes working as an Undergraduate Researcher at Haverford College in 2003.

Brooks Bond-Watts attended Haverford College from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry. Brooks then pursued further education at the University of California, Berkeley from 2006 to 2013.
