Swapnil Choudhari

Vice President - Group Sustainability And Quality at Electrolux Professional

Swapnil Choudhari has a diverse work experience spanning across various companies and roles. Swapnil began their career in 1997 as a Maintenance Engineer at Garware Polyesters Ltd, where they were responsible for the operation and maintenance of various equipment. In 1999, they underwent higher technical training at Hitachi, Ltd.

In 2000, Swapnil joined Matsushita Washing Machine India Limited as a Senior Engineer in the R&D department. Swapnil played a key role in market surveys, product design, and development of washing machines for different markets. Swapnil also utilized IDEAS software for generating 2D and 3D drawings.

Shortly after, in 2003, Swapnil joined Electrolux Kelvinator Limited as an Assistant Manager, working on fabric care, food preservation, and floor care. Here, they were involved in designing and developing innovative washing machines for the Indian market, as well as OEM product development.

In 2005, Swapnil transitioned to Electrolux Major Appliances Asia Pacific, where they held various roles. As the Director of Regional Product Development for Fabric Care in the Asia Pacific region, they led the product development team and successfully increased net sales by 44%. Swapnil also implemented global product architectures and improved time-to-market efficiency. Additionally, Swapnil served as a Senior Project Manager, driving the fabric care project portfolio and scaling up production in the Thailand factory.

In 2014, Swapnil took on a new challenge as the Director of Global R&D for Professional Laundry Systems (and Dishwashers until 2019) at Electrolux Professional. In this role, they focused on developing technology, strategies, and sustainability initiatives for the professional laundry division. Swapnil successfully led global R&D teams and effectively managed multinational stakeholders.

Swapnil's most recent role, starting in 2021, is Vice President - Group Sustainability and Quality at Electrolux Professional. Here, they established the group's sustainability and quality vision and roadmap, responding to government agencies, investors, and stakeholders on sustainability and product compliance matters. Swapnil also implemented ESG frameworks, programs, policies, and capabilities to deliver on environmental, social, and governance commitments.

Swapnil Choudhari completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Leadership and Sustainability at the University of Cumbria from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Engineering (ME) in Mechanical Design from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, between 2002 and 2004. Swapnil also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, which they completed from 1992 to 1996.
