Alexandros Charalambides currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, focusing on the decarbonisation of the electricity sector. In addition, Alexandros holds the position of Associate Professor at Cyprus University of Technology, emphasizing research in cleantech ecosystems, solar energy production, and renewable energy promotion, with notable achievements including over €3 million in funding and multiple academic publications. As a co-founder of Chrysalis LEAP, the first startup accelerator in Cyprus, Alexandros supports entrepreneurs in developing sustainable business ideas. Previous roles include Founder and CEO of ENERMAP, a platform for energy data visualization, and market research officer for the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency. Alexandros's educational background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and additional studies at EPFL and MIT Sloan School of Management.
