Rohaan Ahmed has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Rohaan currently serves as Head of Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision at Elecnor Deimos, where they lead a team in developing advanced algorithms for space-based earth observation and robotics. Prior to this, Rohaan held roles at the Canadian Armed Forces, where they served as an Air & Space Operations Officer and a Combat Engineering Officer. Rohaan also worked at Mission Control as a Product Manager for AI Robotics and Autonomy Software. Additionally, Rohaan has experience as a Director at Children of Hope, where they managed international marketing and relationship development efforts for a Canadian charity. Rohaan also worked at MDA, where they served as a Project Engineer and Product Engineer for government and commercial robotics and AI projects, as well as a Systems Engineer for space robotics and AI. Rohaan has a background in machine learning and data science and worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and Data Science Consultant. Rohaan also held leadership roles at MDA Employees Club and MDA (SPATEA) Engineering Association. Earlier in their career, Rohaan worked as a Chief Technology Officer and Vice President at Maple Tech Services, focusing on mobile applications and web development projects. Rohaan also worked at Honeywell Aerospace as a Power Systems, EMC & Environmental Test Engineer.
Rohaan Ahmed has a diverse education history. From 2006 to 2011, they attended the University of Toronto and earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Rohaan then pursued further education at the same institution, obtaining a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from 2011 to 2015. In 2014, they also completed the Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Innovation and Technology in Engineering (ELITE) Certificate, with a focus on Financial Engineering, Project Management, and Sustainability. In 2019, they received a Certificate from the University of Oxford in Satellite Communications and Navigation Technologies, Markets, and Applications. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science - Artificial Intelligence at Toronto Metropolitan University, which is expected to be completed in 2022. Additionally, they hold several certifications in various fields, such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Project Management, Contract Negotiations, and Leadership.
