Max Jakob is an experienced technology professional with a strong focus on natural language processing and data science. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer I at Elastic since January 2024, Max previously held the role of Principal Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Ecosia, where innovative feature management systems and enhanced CI/CD processes were implemented. Prior to that, Max worked as a Senior Data Scientist and Engineering Manager at SoundCloud, contributing significantly to search technologies and user engagement metrics. Additional experience includes freelance consulting in search and NLP, as well as positions in research and development at Neofonie GmbH and Freie Universität Berlin. Max holds multiple degrees in Natural Language Processing from prestigious universities, including a Master’s from Charles University and a Bachelor's from Heidelberg University.
