David Hovey is an experienced technical writer with a diverse background in various industries, including healthcare, technology, and education. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Writer and Asset Manager at El Camino Health since July 2021, David is responsible for creating and editing documentation across multiple teams within the Information Services Division. Prior roles include Senior Technical Writer at Abbott, where David focused on patient and clinician documentation for medical devices, and positions at prominent companies such as Apple, Google, Cisco Systems, VMware, and Marvell Semiconductor, supporting technical and operational documentation needs. Additionally, David held a leadership role as President of the STC Silicon Valley chapter from July 2013 to January 2018. David possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Art with a Minor in Advertising from San Jose State University and has furthered education through various institutions, including Sacramento City College and the University of California Berkeley Extension.
