Thomas la Cour started their work experience in 1994 as an Overpostbud at Post Danmark, where they worked until 2009. Thomas then worked as a Journalistpraktikant at Mediegruppen A/S from February 2011 to February 2012. From February 2012 to July 2012, they worked as a Journalistpraktikant at Diabetesforeningen, where they wrote for diabetes.dk and the members' magazine diabetes. From August 2012 to March 2015, they worked as a Webjournalist at Mediegruppen. In January 2014, they briefly worked as a Webkoordinator at Petland. From September 2018 to February 2019, they were a Mødeleder at GLOBAL-Network. In May 2019, they joined Ekstra Bladet as a Journalist, and in January 2020, they started working as a Journalist og tekstforfatter at Mediegruppen.
Thomas la Cour attended Danmarks Journalisthøjskole from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Professionsbachelor i journalistik degree with a field of study in Journalistik. Prior to that, they attended Horsens Gymnasium from 1988 to 1991, completing their Sproglig student degree with a field of study in Engelsk Sprog og Litteratur/Bogstaver. In addition to their educational background, they also obtained various certifications including a driver's license for B, BE, C, and CE, as well as certifications in handling dangerous goods and operating a truck.
