Freya Zuidervaart has a diverse range of work experience in the food industry. Freya is currently working as the Head of Content, Recipe Development & Food Coach at Ekomenu since 2022. Prior to this, Freya worked as a Freelance Culinary Editor and Content Manager for various platforms and brands such as Crisp, Culy.nl, ALDI, and Lekker weten (Ekoplaza) starting from 2018. Freya also worked as a Freelance Culinary Creative and Recipe Developer at Crisp from 2020 to 2022. Furthermore, Freya has experience as an Interim Content Manager and Recipe Developer at Mediahuis Nederland in 2021 and as a Freelance Recipe Developer and Marketeer at de Krat from 2019 to 2021. Freya also worked as a Senior Communication Specialist at Kroon op het Werk from 2018 to 2020. In addition, Freya has previous experience as a Project Manager at Yummy Meals/Uit de keuken van Maass, where they were responsible for the startup of the company, and as a Marketing and Community Manager at Thuisafgehaald (now Thuisgekookt), where they played a vital role in the growth of the startup. Their earlier experiences include working as a Senior Product Manager and Culinary Writer at Newco Food Retail, and as the Editor-in-Chief and Nutrition Expert at Valtaf.nl, where they were responsible for the content, growth, and marketing of the website and associated partnerships.

Freya Zuidervaart completed their education in a chronological sequence. From 1997 to 2000, they attended SVH restaurantkok, where they obtained a degree in Zelfstandig werkend kok, specializing in the culinary field. Following this, from 2002 to 2006, Freya pursued a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Marketing at Hogeschool van Amsterdam, specifically in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
