Starr Lee has held a variety of roles since 2011. Starr began their career as a Shift Leader at Culver's Restaurants in 2011. In 2017, they became a Laboratory Technician at Free Medical Clinic, and a Biomedical Technician at Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation. In 2019, they were a Crew Trainer at MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM and a Behavioral Health Technician at ACES (Comprehensive Educational Services, Inc.). In 2020, they worked as a Team Lead Manager at Farmstead and as a Personal Vehicle Driver at UPS. In 2021, they have been a Sales Specialist at Apple, a Wedding Photographer at Eivan's Photo and Video, and a General Merchandise Member at Target.

Starr Lee attended Kirkwood Community College from 2013 to 2016, earning an Associate of Science degree. Following this, Starr Lee attended the University of Iowa from 2017 to 2019, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Physiology.
