David Fulford joined EIV Capital in 2022 and currently serves as senior vice president of engineering for EIV Resources. He is responsible for technical underwriting, technology development, and data strategy for upstream investments.
Prior to EIV Capital, David was S.V.P. of Engineering for ARM Resources Partners, LLC, an EIV portfolio company, where he developed a large part of the novel technology and workflows that he brings to EIV. Prior to that, he served as V.P. of Engineering for Gryphon Oil & Gas, a Blackstone-backed company focused on acquiring non-operated interests in the Permian Basin.
David held positions at Apache and Devon Energy, primarily focused on strategic planning and portfolio modeling. At Apache, he served as global technical lead for asset characterization for Apache’s strategic planning portfolio model where generated corporate-level capital funding scenarios for Apache’s diverse set of international and domestic business groups. He began his career with Devon, serving in various engineering rotations with long-term placement in planning and reserves where he managed the business group’s portfolio process.
David holds a patent for a probabilistic production forecasting method, has authored over ten technical papers, served on various industry technical conference committees and is currently a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE) Monograph 5 committee on Construction and Use of Type Well Profiles.
David earned his M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, and B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.
