Usman Farooq is a seasoned engineer with substantial experience in power systems and electrical engineering. As a Senior Engineer at EirGrid Group since January 2020, Usman specializes in power system engineering. Previous roles include serving as a Master’s thesis Student at Vestas, where Usman developed flicker and harmonic meter models compliant with IEC standards and conducted measurements in line with IEC 61400-21-1 ED1. Additional experience includes a Trainee Engineer position at the Water and Power Development Authority, where Usman tested and commissioned electrical equipment in a 132 KV system, and an internship at British American Tobacco, focused on optimizing production processes. Usman holds multiple degrees, including a Master in Energy Engineering from Aalborg University and a Diploma in Python Programming from CCT College Dublin.
