Mike Uchima has a diverse background in IT and software engineering. Mike is currently working at Eikon Therapeutics as a Staff IT Systems Engineer. Prior to that, they held the position of Lead Linux Systems Developer at Cleversafe, an IBM Company from 2015 to 2022.
Before joining Cleversafe, Mike worked at SPX-Genfare as a Senior Software Engineer from 2014 to 2015, where they focused on firmware design, development, and debugging for embedded systems.
From 2005 to 2014, Mike was a Principal Software Engineer at Thales Visionix. In this role, they were responsible for firmware and software development for helmet-mounted displays, along with assisting with hardware testing, VHDL programming, systems integration, and more.
Prior to their time at Thales Visionix, Mike worked as an independent consultant on various projects in the telecom and financial industry from 1996 to 2005. Mike also held positions as a Software Contractor at Tellabs from 1999 to 2000 and as a Firmware Engineer (Contract) at Westell from 1996 to 1997.
In the earlier years of their career, Mike worked at Fermilab as a Computing Professional from 1991 to 1996, where they developed massively parallel computing solutions. Mike also held the position of Director of Software Development at David Bruce and Co from 1988 to 1991. Additionally, they worked as a Software Engineer at Rockwell International from 1987 to 1988.
Mike Uchima attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1980 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
