David T. McSwiggen's work experience includes roles at various companies and institutions. At Eikon Therapeutics, they are currently a Senior Scientist, leading a team to improve super-resolution imaging applications and advance key drug discovery programs using the company's imaging platform. Prior to this, they worked as a Scientist at Eikon Therapeutics.
Before joining Eikon Therapeutics, David was a Graduate Student at UC Berkeley, where they conducted research in the Tjian and Darzacq labs. Their work involved uncovering a novel mechanism for recruiting RNA Polymerase II to Herpes Simplex Virus replication compartments, studying liquid-liquid phase separation, and investigating the importance of intrinsically disordered protein domains. 🔬David T. also utilized super-resolution microscopy for their research.
David also served as a Professional Research Assistant at the Goodrich/Kugel Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. In this role, they focused on understanding transcriptional activation mediated by the transcription factors cJun and NFATc2. 🔬David T. utilized aptamer analysis and studied the impact of oncogenic compounds on gene activation.
As an Amgen Scholar at MIT, David worked in Dr. Ting's lab for ten weeks. Their project involved applying the APEX technology to map the proteome of Mitochondria-ER junctions and creating APEX-fusions to proteins associated with these junctions.
Prior to their scientific career, David worked as a Sushi Chef/ Pastry Chef at Sushi Jianken for four years.
David T. McSwiggen completed their education in a chronological order. 🔬David T. attended Boulder High School from 2003 to 2007. Afterward, they enrolled at the University of Colorado Boulder and pursued a major in Biochemistry, with minors in Chemistry and Mathematics from 2010 to 2014. Subsequently, David pursued a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with a specialization in Chemical Biology at the University of California, Berkeley from 2014 to 2019.
