Finance & Complaince Head- Europe, Middle East & Africa at Ego Pharmaceuticals

Engy El Shamy has extensive experience in finance and compliance, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and financial analysis. They have served as the Finance & Compliance Head for the Middle East & Africa region at Ego Pharmaceuticals since November 2020. In this role, they collaborate with the EMEA Business Head and Group CFO to drive strategic growth and optimize transactional processes.

Prior to this, Engy worked at Unilever from 2013 to 2020 in various finance positions. They were a Finance Business Partner for the Laundry Arabia business unit, where they challenged assumptions, implemented financial processes, and drove growth and profitability projects. Engy also served as a Finance Business Partner-Manager for GULF, overseeing the Home Care Category P&L financial delivery and the Marketing Digital agenda. In addition, they worked as an Entity Finance Manager in Kuwait, playing a key role in driving customer value and ensuring sustainable revenue and profit growth.

Before joining Unilever, Engy worked as a Site Financial Controller at Valeo from 2010 to 2012, leading a team and overseeing the smooth running of the Finance Department in Cairo. They also gained experience as a Financial Controller at Dexia Credit Local in 2010, where they were responsible for budgeting, variance analysis, and monthly provisions. Engy's early career includes a role as a Cost Controller under the V.I.E program at Valeo, where they initiated and supported the financial department in Egypt, improved procedures, and established internal controls.

Engy El Shamy received a Master of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in International Finance from California State University, Stanislaus (USA) and the University of Cergy-Pontoise (France) between 2007 and 2008. Engy also obtained a Master's degree in International Finance from California State Stanislaus during the same period.
