Dr. Rainer Merz is an Associate Principal at Egon Zehnder since 2016, specializing in serving clients within the technology and telecommunications sectors, including digital companies associated with private equity and venture capital. Prior to this role, Dr. Merz spent a decade at Egon Zehnder in various research capacities from 2005 to 2015, which included serving as Research Principal and Co-Head of Research in Germany. Earlier professional experience includes a directorial position in Customer Operations at Inter.net from 2000 to 2006, where responsibilities encompassed various technical areas. Dr. Merz holds a PhD in Sociology and Political Economy from Bielefeld University and has degrees in International Relations and Macroeconomics from the University of Konstanz and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
